今回のテーマは「Danger（危険）」です！
日々の生活で直面している危険についての質問となっています！

Part１
1. Do you think that it is dangerous outside?
（あなたは外は危険だと思いますか？）
(日本語）
いいえ、少なくとも日本ではそうは思いません。外に出ても恐怖を感じません。もちろん、今はCOVID-19の危険があります。でも、マスクをして食料品を買いに行くことはできます。
（英訳）
No, I don't think so, at least in Japan. I don’t feel fear when I go outside. Of course, nowadays, we are in danger of COVID-19. But we can go grocery shopping by wearing a mask.
2. Do you watch crime news now? How does it make you feel?
（あなたは今、犯罪のニュースを見ますか？それを見てどのように感じますか？）
（日本語）
はい、いつもネットニュースでチェックしています。被害に遭われた方がかわいそうです。特に子供を虐待しているニュースを見ると、とても悲しくなります。どうしてあんな残酷なことをする人がいるのか理解できません。
（英訳）
Yes, I always check it on online news. I feel sorry for the victims. In particular, I feel extremely sad when I see the news that abusing one’s child. I cannot understand why people did those cruel things.
3. Which do you think is the most dangerous country in the world?
（世界でもっとも危険だと思う国はどこですか？）
（日本語）
私は北朝鮮が一番危険だと思います。その国のニュースを時々耳にします。しかし、そこで何が起こっているのかを正確に知ることはできません。その国についてのニュースは、たいていその国の政府によって変更されています。
（英訳）
In my opinion, North Korea is the most dangerous one. I sometimes hear the news about the country. But we cannot know what is happening exactly there. The news about it is usually altered by the government of the country.
4. Can you live in an overcrowded city?
（あなたは人ごみの多い街で暮らせますか？）
（日本語）
確かに、私は住むことができます。以前、東京に住んでいて、たまに満員電車に乗ることがありました。人混みの中にいるのは不快でした。でも、過密都市に住むのは嫌いじゃなかった。お店や飲食店がたくさんあるので、買い物をしたり、いろんなお店に行ったりするのが楽しかったです。
（英訳）
Indeed, I can. I used to live in Tokyo and get on a packed train sometimes. It was uncomfortable while being in crowd. But I didn’t hate living in an overcrowded city. There are lots of shops or restaurants, so I enjoyed shopping or going to various restaurants.
5. Are you worried about what is happening now in society?
（あなたは今社会で起きていることを心配していますか？）
（日本語）
確かに心配しています。パンデミックの影響で世界中の経済が悪化しています。失業率も上がっています。私を含め、人々が苦しんでいます。この先、仕事に就けるかどうか心配です。
（英訳）
Certainly, I am. The economy of all over the world is getting worse because of the pandemic. The rate of unemployment has increased. People are suffering from the situation including me. I am worried if I can get a job in the future.

Describe a time that you were in danger and felt really scared.
（ あなたが危険にさらされて、とても怖さを感じたときについて説明してください。）

友人とパリに旅行に行った時のことです。大学の卒業旅行でした。私たちはパリを観光しました。駅に着いたとき、一人の男性が日本語で話しかけてきました。そこでは日本語を話す人を見たことがなかったので、日本語が上手な人に驚きました。私は日本語で返事をしました。すると、ハイタッチをしてくれて、ブレスレットをつけてくれました。彼は親切で親しみやすそうな人でした。私は彼を完全に信頼していました。私は感謝の気持ちを伝えました。そしたら、お金を要求してきました。最初は何を言っているのか理解できませんでした。私が否定したら、怒られた。その顔は本当に怖かったです。私と友人は彼から逃げました。幸い、彼は私たちを追いかけてこなかったのですが、私たちに向かって何かを叫んでいました。それは悪夢でした。海外の怖さを知りました。また、観光地では親しみを込めて自分たちの言葉で話しかけてくる人に気をつけなければならないということを学びました。

It happened when I traveled to Paris with my friend. It was the graduation trip of the university. We went sightseeing around Paris. When we arrived at a station, a man talked to us in Japanese. I was surprised by the man who could speak Japanese well because we never saw someone who spoke Japanese there. I replied to him in Japanese. Then, he gave me a hi-five and put a bracelet on my wrist. He looked kind and friendly. I perfectly trusted him. I told him my gratitude for it. Then, he demanded money from me. I couldn’t understand what he meant at first. I deny the request, then he got mad at me. His face was really scary. I and my friend ran away from him. Fortunately, he didn’t follow us, though, he screamed something to us. It was a nightmare. I learned the scariness of overseas. Also, I learned that we should be careful of the person who speaks to us in our language with friendliness in sightseeing spots.

1. Why are there people who still live in a dangerous society?
（なぜいまだに危険な社会で暮らす人々がいるのでしょうか？）
（日本語）
不確かですが、彼らはその社会以外に生きる選択肢がないのかもしれません。例えば、北朝鮮に住んでいる人たちのことを考えてみましょう。国外に出たくても、政府が禁止しているので出られない人がいるとします。それはかわいそうだと思います。彼らの意志次第で住む場所を選べる権利を手に入れてほしいと思います。
（英訳）
I am uncertain, but they might have no choice to live except for that society. Let’s say people who live in North Korea. Some of them want to leave the country, but they can’t because the government prohibits that. I feel sorry about that. I hope they will get the right that they can choose where to live depending on their wills.
2. According to statistics, why are the rich facing a lot more dangerous than the poor or average people?
（統計によると、なぜ裕福な人々は貧しい人々や一般的な人々よりたくさんの危険にさらされているのでしょうか？）
（日本語）
それは、お金持ちが犯罪者に狙われやすいからではないでしょうか。また、強盗は確かに金持ちの家庭を狙っています。金持ちの観光客にも起こります。観光地で強盗の被害に遭う傾向があります。
（英訳）
I guess it is because the rich tend to be aimed their assert by criminals. Also, a robber certainly aims at a rich household. It also happens to a rich tourist. He or she tends to be a victim of a robbery in a sightseeing spot.
3. There is a proverb that says, "There is a danger if we don’t care." Do you agree?
（このような格言があります。「我々が気に欠けない時に危険は存在する」あんたはこれに賛成ですか？）

私はこれに全く同意します。先ほども書きましたが、旅行に行くときは気をつけないと強盗に遭う可能性があります。でも、持ち物から目を離さないようにしていれば、危険を避けることができます。私はいつもハンドバッグのファスナーに手をかけたり、リュックを肩前に背負ったりしています。泥棒から身を守るのに役立っています。
（英訳）
I totally agree with this. As I wrote earlier, we need to be careful when we travel, otherwise, we might encounter a robbery. However, if we keep our eyes on our belongings, we can avoid danger. I always put my hand on the zipper of my handbag or carry my backpack on my shoulders in front. It helps me keep myself from a thief.
